All good relationships will be challenged at times. The purpose of relationship between two people is to love and believe in oneself and one another, to help and support one another, to open to and receive the love from one’s partner, and to therefore grow together. An easy or contented relationship is not necessarily a good one, as the couple may be avoiding necessary lessons. Growth, change, and expansion are also “meant to be.” When challenges and suffering arise in relationship, it is important to know that there is help available by the same loving guidance that brought the two of you together. The willingness to ask for that help is an important part in receiving. It is also important to know that challenges in the relationship do not mean you have a bad relationship. It means you have a growing relationship. The loving hand of guidance can use these periods of challenge to bring healing and spiritual closeness. There are often unexplainable forces that guide two people through all the obstacles that prevent them from having a deep and fulfilling love. Meeting is one thing, but staying in love may be quite another. All couples know those times in a relationship when it seems the end is in sight, when nothing seems to be working, when you look at your partner and think to yourself, what are we doing together?.
